Katelyn J. Kim received her Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of California, San Diego in 2004. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate degree from University of San Diego School of Law in 2005. As a law student, Ms. Kim received distinguished awards for her academic performance including the USD Entering Merit Scholarship and the Lou Kerig Scholarship. Further in law school, she interned for the San Diego District Attorney's Office as a Certified Legal Intern and served as the Chair of the Law Student's Committee for the Korean American Bar Association, San Diego.
After graduating in the top third of her class, Ms. Kim became a member of the California State Bar and was admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the central district of California. She then started practicing bankruptcy in Los Angeles providing legal assistance in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy laws. In 2010, Ms. Kim joined the Chapter 13 department at Doan Law Firm.
